We try and test every single ounce we buy. There is an incredible amount of sub-standard bullion out there. These are for the most part in the form of generic rounds and bars. We let those go for less or send them to the refinery. We endeavor to not sell coins that are not .999 and we know that we are the only place in Idaho with an advanced method of testing to assure our customers of quality. We are not the cheapest on one or two because we spend a lot of time protecting the public from junk. If you want to be sure that what you buy is as it should be, come to Gem State Gold and Silver. Your very survival one day may depend on having the real McCoy to barter with. It will be too late then. We strive to be the biggest and the best precious metals dealer in Idaho. We are discount brokers on larger transactions of precious metals. I was a stock broker in the eighties, just like then; I take your order and fulfill that order with through one of the oldest and most respected supplier of precious metals in the world, Amark. Since I get your money up front and have very little risk I pass that savings on to you with the following fee schedule When acting as your broker, at 500 coins, I do not mark up anything from the charge from Amark except for the transaction fee based on the amount purchased. The prices we charge are the price we pay or you…when or if you order through us. This means that when you order, and our supplier issues a trade number, that purchase is locked in for you. if the price goes up or down the next day or next hour, you must pay the agreed on price when you order was placed by me and confirmed, and the trade number was issued. | Since its introduction in 1986, over 70 million American Silver Eagles have been bought by wise collectors and investors. Silver Eagles have become the most popular bullion coin in the world because of its beauty, its quality and the assurance of content by the U.S. Government. The design is based on the famous “Walking Liberty” of Adolph Weinman’s 1916 U.S. half-dollar, widely considered to be one of the most beautiful coins ever minted. Every Silver Eagle is a meticulously crafted work of art, produced to the exacting standards of The United States Mint. By law, all U.S. Silver Eagle bullion coins are struck only from silver mined in the United States. | |||||||||||||||

| In 1983, A-Mark Precious Metals, Inc., began minting The Liberty Pure Silver medallion or round. The Liberty met almost instant success with the demand often outstripping the supply. The obverse design features America’s national symbol, The American Eagle with arrows in its talons and surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original thirteen colonies. The reverse depicts the historic Liberty Bell and the words, “Life, Liberty, Happiness” above the bell and the A-Mark logo with .999 Pure Silver below. A-Mark Liberty Pure Silver Rounds are an excellent way to invest in pure silver because their premium above the silver spot price is often less than that of legal tender coins. | ||||||||

|---|---|---|
|
Bags of U.S. circulating legal tender coins (dimes, quarters, half-dollars) containing 90% silver or 40% silver are traded based on silver weight. All bags contain $1,000 face value of the coins and a “90% bag” may contain 10,000 dimes, 4,000 quarters or 2,000 half-dollars or a mixture of dimes, quarters or halves that total $1,000 face value. All “90% coins” are pre-1965 because prior to 1965, all U.S. dimes, quarters and half-dollars were struck from an alloy containing 90% silver and 10% copper. In 1965, at the direction of Congress, the U.S. Mint removed all silver from dimes and quarters. Silver content in half-dollars was reduced to 40%.p | |

|
In 1965 the U.S. Mint removed all silver from all dimes and quarters and reduced the silver content in Kennedy half dollars from 90% to 40%. Actually, the mint changed the alloy from which the coins were struck using a base metal alloy for the core and adding a silver coating to the outside of the coins. These Kennedy halves (1965-1969) are known as “clads” because they are clad in silver. After 1969 all circulating U.S. coins were struck without silver. A “40% Silver Bag” consists of 2000 Kennedy half dollars minted between 1965 and 1969. | |
